APBA Master Baseball game adds complexity (and a lot of math) without resolving many of the issues with APBA Basic Baseball, IMHO.ĪPBA Basic Football is a fun game too, probably better than the the APBA Basic Baseball, but again far too basic for my taste. That said, the game engine has way too many holes (especially in pitching) for me to ever take it seriously again. I don't have any knowledge of the hockey or soccer game.ĪPBA Basic Football is a simple game that is a lot of fun for someone beginning his journey in the tabletop sports hobby. So, in summary, I would vote baseball, but you can't go wrong with any of them. If you DO try out golf, PM me and I'll show you a change yo make it 1000% more fun. The ASG company offers far more courses that can be easily used with the APBA cards and boards if you really get into it. The golf is excellent with gorgeous courses. Perhaps I just never played it enough to get really efficient, so you might like it better than me. That being said, it's amazingly accurate and realistic. The basic game can be learned in 5-10 minutes. Every season from 1901 (plus an 1800s one), Negro Leagues, HoF sets, etc are all available. The baseball offers quickness in the basic form and then any depth of complexity you desire with the master version. I've played APBA baseball since '74, football and golf since '78, and I had their now-extinct horse racing game. Huge, but legitimate, question, especially as it is not a cheap hobby.
